During the VII Day of Italian Research in the World, on 11 April 2024, a delegation from Area Science Park, together with representatives of CNR-IOM, ICGEB, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, SISSA, IRCSS Burlo Garofolo, and Aindo, visited Sweden to strengthen scientific cooperation and develop new collaborations in life and materials sciences. The visit, which started from Lund and ended at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, included meetings with Swedish researchers and the presentation of innovative projects.

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste participated in the mission with Luca Giannessi and Lisa Vaccari who illustrated the analysis possibilities at the Elettra and FERMI laboratories. Italian collaboration with Swedish research centers, already consolidated in projects such as the European Spallation Source and MaxIV, aims to intensify, especially in high-tech fields. Italian Ambassador Michele Pala underlined the importance of the visit to enhance Italian excellence and promote further collaborations in key sectors such as life sciences, materials, ICT, energy and the environment.
