Abstract
The "Advanced Photon Processing and Measurement Technologies" R&D project began as a 5-year project in FY1997., which has 6 themes with 14 organization. These themes are following; 1.Macroscopic Processing Technology; high power and high speed welding, and monitoring of welding phenomena, 2.Microscopic Processing Technology; fabrication of ultrafine particles produced by laser ablation into micro-functional structures, 3.In Situ Measuring Technology; high-sensitivity measuring by wide-spectral manipulation and wavefront compensation, 4.Nondestructive Measurement Technology; following, 5.High Power All-Solid-State Laser Technology; diode pumping compact high-power and high efficiency laser, 6.Tightly-Focusing All-Solid-State Laser Technology; tightly-focusing compact fiber laser, new laser diodes for pumping, high-brightness all-solid-state Laser and harmonic generation. Our part is to develop non-destructive measuring technology to accurately analyze surface composition and conditions, and evaluate internal defects and impurities with short and high intensity X-ray source. Its system are constructed with micrometer laser induced plasma X-ray source, micro-focusing X-ray mirrors, sub-micrometer TOF-XPS system, micrometer resolution X-ray tomography system and fluorescent X-ray measurement system with a superconducting detector.
