Microwaves, Optics and Nanotechnology: Research activities of the Microwave Group

Marco Farina
Dip. Elettromagnetismo e Bioingegneria, Università Politecnica delle Marche

Abstract
This talk is a report about the present main activities of our research group at the Dipartimento di Bioingegneria, Elettronica e Telecomunicazioni (DIBET), in Ancona. While following the mainstream of the Electromagnetic Theory by both the physics and the engineering points of view, the work touches different domains, ranging from the applied mathematical modeling to the design of device and systems, in particular in the area of microwaves, millimeter waves and optics. Recent achievements include the application of the electromagnetic theory approaches to Quantum Mechanics, in order to handle and model nanotech devices, such as carbon nanotube and carbon nano-ribbon transistors
