ALBA Low Level RF System

Abstract
ALBA is a 3GeV, 400mA, 3rd generation Synchrotron Light Source located 20km away from Barcelona, Spain. A Digital LLRF system has been developed for the Booster and Storage Ring RF Cavities. It is based on IQ modulation/demodulation technique and it has been implemented using a commercial FPGA board. The Booster was already commissioned in January 2010 with this system. The results of the control loops (amplitude, phase, tuning and field flatness) will be presented together with other capabilities of the LLRF like automatic start-up of the system, automatic conditioning and diagnostics (slow, fast and post mortem analysis). The basic hardware structure (digital boards, analogue front ends and timing) will be also explained.
