FEL activities at Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics

Abstract
The free electron lasers would be the next focus on light source. Development at Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics(SINAP). The FEL experiments are being conducted at Shanghai Deep Ultraviolet FEL test facility, a dedicated test bench for seeded FEL schemes. The High Gain Harmonic Generation (HGHG) and Echo-Enabled Harmonic Generation (EEHG) principles are investigated and compared in the past years. The SXFEL, Shanghai Soft X-ray Free Electron Laser facility was approved in 2011 and will be built next to the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF). The design status will be presented in the talk.
