The LHC as meeting point between experimentalists and theorists.

F. Bazzocchi
SISSA

Abstract
Particle physics is living exciting times since LHC started collecting the first data: for the first time we have the possibility to investigate energies we could never reach in the past. I will remind the main experimental and theoretical motivations for which the LHC has been built and I will briefly describe its main features and the event reconstruction strategies. I will comment the last more important results and give an example on how a phenomenological model may be constrained.
