Abstract
I08-SXM beamline at Diamond Light Source, UK, is hosted a Scanning X-ray microscope with outstanding capabilities and versatile features. I08-SXM is an instrument that covers a broad photon energy range (250 to 4200 eV), providing access to all major K- and L-absorption edges for SXM elemental and chemical analysis, with lateral resolutions down to ~20 nm depending on the imaging mode, combined with the high quality spectroscopic (NEXAFS) data for chemically-sensitive analysis, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) mapping. Special sample handling facilities includes cryogenic specimen preparation environment and in close future, additional possibilities of implementing functional specimen cells for in-situ studies. I am going to present the beamline components and provide some details in the design and construction of the beamline and the end-station. In the following, some recent experiments and achievements will be presented.
